Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 September 2026

Short version: this site runs Google Analytics and nothing else. It stays switched off until you press Accept, and you can switch it back off at any time from the link in the footer. There are no ads, no advertising trackers, and nothing is sold or shared with anyone beyond Google.

Who runs this site

This site is operated personally by Kevin Solorzano in West Orange, New Jersey, USA. It is a personal portfolio and is not operated on behalf of any employer or client. For anything in this policy, including requests about your data, write to solorzke@gmail.com.

What is collected

Only Google Analytics 4, and only after you consent. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, no analytics code loads at all and no cookies are written.

When analytics is enabled, two cookies are stored in your browser:

  • _ga A randomly generated visitor ID. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_F8D9W4QH91 Session state for this property. Expires after 2 years.

And the following is sent to Google:

  • The page address you are viewing and the page that referred you.
  • An approximate location derived from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store the IP address itself.
  • Device and browser type, screen size, and language.

This site does not ask for your name, email, or any other detail unless you choose to email me directly. There are no forms, no accounts, and no newsletter.

Why

To see roughly how many people visit and which projects get read. That is the whole purpose. The data is not used to build a profile of you, is never used for advertising, and is never sold or shared.

Google's advertising features are explicitly switched off on this property: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and personalization_storage are denied at all times, whether or not you consent to analytics.

Legal basis and your rights

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, the legal basis for this processing is your consent, given by pressing Accept. You can withdraw it at any moment with the cookie settings link, which also deletes the analytics cookies from your browser. Withdrawing is as easy as giving consent and carries no penalty.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to processing, or to receive a copy. Under the CCPA and CPRA, California residents additionally have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. No personal information is sold or shared, so there is nothing to opt out of, but the analytics opt-out is available to everyone regardless.

To exercise any of these, email solorzke@gmail.com. Because the analytics data is not tied to a name or an email address, you may need to tell me roughly when you visited so the right records can be found.

Who else sees it

Google, as the analytics provider, acting as a processor on my behalf. Their handling is governed by the Google Privacy & Terms and the Google Ads Data Processing Terms. Google may process this data on servers in the United States.

The site is hosted on Firebase Hosting, also a Google service. Like any web server, it keeps standard request logs for security and reliability. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google's font servers receive your IP address as part of serving the font files.

Nobody else. No advertising networks, no data brokers, no social media pixels, no session recording, no heatmaps.

How long it is kept

Analytics records are retained for 14 months and then deleted automatically by Google. The cookies in your browser expire after 2 years, or immediately if you withdraw consent or clear your browser data.

Children

This site is aimed at employers, collaborators and other developers. It is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top will change with it. If the change affects what is collected, the consent banner will reappear so you can make a fresh choice.

Opting out elsewhere

Besides the cookie settings on this site, you can install Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, which blocks Google Analytics across every site you visit. Most browsers also let you block or clear cookies directly.
